About the band

The Modfellas formed in 2007 from a passion of all things mod, Musically the band is influenced by the Small Faces, The High Numbers ( The Who ), The Kinks, Northern soul and more recently The Jam and Paul Weller.
The Modfellas are a three piece band with Marcus (vocals, guitar) Simon (drums) and Mark (bass, vocals) they mainly cater for the scooter clubs, events and rallies, but still play the pubs and bars that always want them back, they are predominantly a 60s mod band but also play songs from the 80s revival years, As a band The Modfellas hope to keep playing more new venues to widen there audience and hope they appreciate the songs they play as so many have done in the past, also to keep playing the music of a generation that has captured so many within the last 50 years.

The Modfellas live set is filled with many mod classics such as, I cant explain, all or nothing, zoot suit, really got me, david watts, down in the tube station and start, with a selection of more obscure 60s tracks such as song of a baker and if I were a carpenter, It only remains to say that The Modfellas are a force to be reckoned with on the mod scene and look forward to seeing you all soon.

Marcus

My first interest in the Mod Scene was in the 80’s Mod revival. A good childhood friend of mine’s older brother, was a massive Jam and British SKA fan and introduced me to the music of Paul Weller.

I also listened to Motown and Soul at home, Marvin Gaye, Drifters, Temptations and a bit of Northern.

A few years ago I discovered the music of The Small Faces, with Steve Marriott at the helm. i believe that The Small Faces along with Paul Weller are the TRUEST Mod’s of all time.

I played in one other Band for a few years, prior to The Modfellas but for me this is both musically and personally i where i want to be.

Bass Guitar

Having played in various bands and different music styles since my late teens, playing the ‘mod generation’ of songs is fantastic, imaginative and the most thrilling enjoyable. Being the youngest member of the band I can remember the 80’s mod scene with The Jam and am a big fan of all their work. The songs for me are truly classic and have a powerful, iconic and anthem status which will continue through generations.

Playing together, the band represents the true sound of real mod music the selection of songs we play has never been stronger and more appreciated.

Playing bass guitar has never been more enjoyable and interesting and I hope that all of you who have watched us or about too will enjoy a taste of the best real live mod music around.
